What I am Working On...

QUICK NOTE: Remember... this application is still a very early BETA and is still a major workin in progress!  I am no where near what I would consider a "stable" build that is really suitable for everyday use!

I know I said I should have a build out today but I am still wrapping up some things with the current version... I have added some new navigation that will allow me to present all the content in different ways and allow for access to Movies, Trailers, etc... I have a new view in that alllows you to just look at a list of all the shows available... I will also be adding a "shows by genre" section so you can select a genre and then view all the shows in that genre... I am also working on adding a settings section that will allow users to add an "offset" value that will be used to modify the locations of the full screen clicks for those of you who are having issues... It should work in the current build for most setups but for those who are using different DPI settings and have different resolutions on secondary displays, etc this feature will allow you to make a one time setting and have all your full screen clicks work going forward (hopefully this is just a temporary fix and that down the road I can auto detect the details of your resolution and account for them... but this will atleast get users working for now).  In the settings screen you will also be able to set your desired staring view as well as namings for your favorites lists, etc...

Anyway... I will try to get the next build wrapped up tomorrow and get it out to everyone... I want to get enough into it that it is worth the hassel of the uninstall and reinstall!

I found this site by accident, but WHAT AN ACCIDENT!!!! A FANTASTIC piece of software!!! A suggestion...whenever you have a new version ready for download, how about an email notification to let me know?

i think i like this better. with so much content you almost have to organize it like this. One though i did have, I don't know how you are setting it up, but is there a way you could eventually have all teh shows stored in a file that the end user could edit? or you could or someone could, this way if any links were to break the user or someone, could fix them themselves instead of waiting for a new build or we could add/remove shows ourselves.

Off to a great start. Couple of suggestions: 1) RSS feed so we can follow allong 2) email notification of new builds so we can help you test 3) maybe a forums section on your website for different topics (e.g. Linksys extenders...BTW, it doesn't work for me) 4) Allow for creating our own channels off RSS video feeds like Boxee...keep up the great work!

Great plugin! However, I'm awaiting two essential features before it will be really useful to me: 1. Play/Pause control of Hulu content via MC remote. Currently I have to reach for my wireless mouse to do this, rather than my MC remote. But once I'm using the mouse, I tend to stick with it and stop using SecondRun. I also find the skip-back/forward feature of the MC remote very useful for when I miss something said on a recorded show. Having that feature for online shows would be great. 2. USA shows, particularly Burn Notice. Not sure how to find them in SecondRun if they are there at all. Keep up the good work!

I would love to see this program for Windows XP MCE. Any chance of that happening?

Yaggs - I know you've received a *lot* of suggestions for features. Would it be possible for you to put a list together of all of the requests you've received, and identify their development status (i.e. which ones you're working on, which ones you will work on, and which ones you have no plans to work on)? That would help us see the direction you plan on going with the plugin and (ideally) reduce repeated requests for the same feature. With that said - here is one request I have. Video in Preview window: Currently, any video streamed via SecondRun does not appear in the small preview window (the window in the lower-left corner of the screen that displays whatever is playing on TV). Thanks again!

Are you going to make any progress on the ability to use it on extenders? I suspect that I am not the only one who wants this ability. All I see now is jumpy video and no sound on my Linksys 2200. JC

Mine goes into full screen mode but when it does the video freezes but the audio still works. I can hit the escape key and exit full screen and the video is fine.

Amazing, one guy takles this feat and it's just "Not good enough" and a bunch of ungrateful's chime in to tell you it doesn't have this or that and whine about it. Guys I'm pretty sure he is aware of what it has/does or doesn't have/do. Give him a chance. I applaud him for going the extra mile and getting this accomplished. Good job and I look forward to your next release. ;

I'm with Blades.... instead of complaining about what Yaggs isn't doing, we should all be immensely thankful for what he has done... and put your money where your mouth is. I'm sure Yaggs would appreciate even $5 or $10 (though not as much as He'd appreciate $100).. As Blades says, I'm sure Yaggs is aware of all the issues... but even if he's not, he's clearly not just slacking off and playing with his kids, he's busting his hump so that we can sit on our couch and watch TV with our remotes... Based on the quality of what he's delivered thus far, I have full confidence that he's going to address most (if not all) of our concerns! Great job!

Yaggs, Great work so far.I appreciate what you are doing. Cant wait to see your next build!

I've been one of Yaggs vocal proponents here, and I agree with what JHR says (Blades too). Yaggs had 4000 downloads of the plugin when it was first released. If each of those people had donated $1.00, then Yaggs could definitely have shown Mrs. Yaggs that people value his work, not to mention putting a little coin in the pocket of the man that has given us a *great* beta (and if the beta is this good, I can't wait to see the finished product). I've donated already, and I should probably donate again just to make sure that Yaggs knows his continuing efforts are apprecated. But I echo JHR in saying that everyone should donate something. If each person donates $1.00 each time they download a version of SecondRun, think about what that says to Yaggs about how much we respect and like his work.

That looks freakin' AWESOME, Yaggs! Keep up the good work! You'd mentioned earlier that you thought you had Pause/RWD/FF implementation in the works. Hopefully that is still in the works... But, even as an early beta, SecondRun is great!

Let me start by saying this plugin is awesome!!! If you could find a way to add ABC content that would be great. I have been running this for about a week and am so happy with it. If you could work in showing the orginal air date that would be very useful also the text is small when you try to read the details on the shows. Just some constrcutive feeback because overall this is great. I tested this with my DMA 2100 extender and video palys and is at the work speed. This is very similar to what happens on the extender using VMCnetflix plugin. My guess is the only way to solve this would be a firmware upgade from lynksys but I will not hold my breath on that one. VMC, SecondrunTV plugin, MYmovies plugin, amd vmcnetflix plugin and you have one rocking system with no need to have cable (less ESPN of course) or go to the video store. Great work!!!

I have to admit this is one heck of a Great Software program but, for some reason it freezes up my computer even though it has enough memory 8gb+ on a Core 2 quad computer and Vista. I have tried several times to use it but with no success. I guess I'll have to wait for a final version but dang I really wanted to use it. Keep up the great work you are doing and yes I'll still keep track of what is going on. Kenn - Keeper
