I can't say thank you enough to everyone who has already donated!

If you feel like you can help and donate any amout of money the cause then use DONATE button on the right hand side of this page!

I'll be happy to help once extender support happens. Until then, I don't have a use for it. Thanks for your work though.

There has been no movement on this product recently. Extender support, for me, is the only thing that will make SecondRun worth donating to. Once extender's are working i will gladly donate.

We already offered you web hosting, but you never took us up on it. Nevermind.

I too, would love to donate once extenders are supported. However with your hosting costs so high have you looked into dreamhost.com. I don't work for them, but use them and have been very happy with them, just saw the previous commenter thinks the same thing! Also look for coupons, that would bring the first year (or two) cost WAY down.

Hi, I might be interested in donating server power. Contact me to discuss. Paul

I've already donated and look forward to future updates. I would appreciate it if postings to the Bug Comments on Forums were answered. If I map something to Favorites and then try to access Favorites I get the following message: Program Not Responding. The SecondRuntv program has stopped responding and you will be returned to Windows Media Center. Once I add to any of the Favorites I get this message even if I Delete the Favorite! I've added to Favorites 1 & 3. If I try and access either of them now I get this message: Invalid Application Unable to Launch "SecondRuntv" There is also a check box to Disable this Application! If I try and access Favories 2 I get the default: This Networdk/List Currently Doesn't Contain Any Programs. Any comments to fix this would be welcome.

I'll gladly make a donation when there's some progress on extender support. Thanks for all your hard work.

Sorry, but no donations from me until extender support is working, there is TRUE remote functionality, and it doesn't run like crap.

I don't have a computer in my living room, so I rely on my 360 to view content on my server. If extenders get supported, I will donate.

basically with hulu desktop, you app is worthless. I haven't even installed it on my new system. I keep checking back for worthwhile updates and all I find is you you consistently asking for money.

No need to be nasty. This app was out long before the Hulu desktop. Not to mention its still a work in progress. The author allows you to use the app he put so much effort in to for FREE. Donating is optional.

Yeah Mike the guy is doing this for free, i've had it installed and it is a great App, theres no call to be nasty about it. I lost my job and had to let the cable tv go second run fills in the gap man!

Hate to say it, but your project has reached stagnation. Lots of great work in the beginning, but it's not sustainable! You need to open your code up to other people to help out, or it's just gonna die. Asking for money also seems pretty disingenuous when a Sourceforge site would be free & unlimited bandwidth, and others have volunteered hosting for free as well. -Dan (very early donor)

Like a lot of people here, I was wondering when the next version will be put up on the site......since the last time you posted one was coming soon.....well nothing......I would be willing to donate but just when i entertain the idea, it seems you no longer put the time into the project.....Why donate if the project is dead? Great and better than the Hulu desktop......hope you continue and post and update as advertised.....a donation will follow shortly.

Has second run been shut down? Can someone tell us whats going on hope you didn't passaway.....

Appears Secondrun is dead. Another good idea that didn't go anywhere. It's a shame, this was a realy good app....If he just added extender support he could have saved the app!!

I'm wondering if this site will even be here tomorrow???
Posted: 7/31/2009 7:32:02 AM | By: Richard | Rating:

It looks like he is running the site off of a shared hosting at Gear Host, or he's got his own ($99/mo) dedicated server with them with at least 50 websites sharing the same IP. Either way, saying he pays $100/mo for *this* website's hosting is a bit disingenuous.

Is Secondrun abandoned? It's been about a month and a half since there's been any kind of an update. I'd love to see this get completed.

Wow, just another case where someone creates something completely free, and if the users (who use it FREE) don't get what they want, they start acting like total babies. A couple comments: 1)does anyone here know what the bandwidth costs are for Secondrun? I'm guessing a lot higher than any of you whiners guess. Having a website costs a lot more than posting up a bit of code on a server. 2) I'm with the few people here who don'thave a use for the app until extender support is included, but I can recognize a great app, and a great offer from someone who designs a free product 3) he's asking for DONATIONS. You don't want to donate? don't. That's how donations work. 4) Finally, if you all are fed up with secondrun, i suggest you either learn to code or go write a check to someone willing to write software for you as payware. until then, say "thank you" and shut the hell up. Sorry, but i'm tired of this generation of software users who expect, no, demand to get more than they pay for with freeware.
Posted: 8/22/2009 1:59:53 PM | By: Brihyn | Rating:

Brihyn - 1. The bandwidth costs are very low. This site can be maintained on a $5/mo account. I run webhosting businesses, so I know. But most likely, it is piggybacking on his existing server, and costs even less. 2. Sure. 3. He's also setting a level of expectation without fulfilling it. Many of the people commenting here either have already donated without receiving what was promised, or really want to donate upon extender support, but the developer just disappeard which is somewhat typical of "free" offerings like this. 4. See #3. If you don't like it, go whine somewhere else.
Posted: 8/23/2009 12:26:21 PM | By: CST | Rating:

CST- While I understand the comment about people donating for something they haven't yet gotten, they also knew the risk going in for the donation. Again, it's freeware, and the common attitude it to bitch and moan if you're own expectations aren't meant. Look at many many other freeware apps. it's not just here, but it's a pretty rude mentality ove hobbyists the all over the internet. and as for this site being maintained for $5/mo, yes, you're right. But there's a lot of data being pulled via the app that is not on this site. Seems like that data, with the number of users I'm sure are running secondrun, are adding up to a heck of a lot more than 5/month.

Brihyn - CST has already offered to host the site, but Yaggs wouldn't take him up on it. I feel sorry for the people who donated and got screwed over by Yaggs.

Can anyone start an internet tv service more like media browser? that way more then one person can work on it so when someone gets fed up someone else can take over? Can anyone start an innternet tv service more like media browser? that way more then one person can work on it so when someone gets fed up someone else can take over?

Wow - boy do I regret donating my money to this project. Yaggs, a bit strange that your last post a donation drive and haven't heard anything in months since you begged people for money. Do us all a favor and release your source code so other programmers can pick up where you left off, instead of leaving people who donated to you high and dry.
Posted: 8/25/2009 7:33:51 PM | By: Jon | Rating:

Wow people get pretty angry over nothing. It's possible the project is dead, but it is also possible that a much improved program is coming. Big changes take time, especially for one person working alone in his spare time. Relax.
